Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineers Club (AAEC)
Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineers Club (AAEC) is a student organization within the Istanbul Technical University Aeronautics and Astronautics Faculty which develops diverse aviation projects that represent our faculty, university and country in the international arena since 1998. AAEC is a member of important and prestigious foundations across Europe and America; such as European Association of Aerospace Students (EUROAVIA) and student branch of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); and works in coordination with over 200 student organizations bonded to these foundations.

AAEC participated in the 10th AIAA/Cessna/ONR Student Design Build Fly Competition in April 21-23, 2006, which was held at Wichita/Kansas, America. The team took the 5th place among 49 contestants overcoming teams from quite prominent colleges worldwide. In the meantime, ATA-7 secured a third place title in the lightest aircraft and lowest budget category.

AIAA 2006-2007 Cessna/Raytheon D/B/F
ATA-8 Kaan Team, supervised by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şerif Kavsaoğlu and Prof. Dr. M. Fevzi Ünal, represented our university in the AIAA/Cessna/Raytheon Student Design Build Fly Competition organized by AIAA in April 20-22, 2007 at Tucson/Arizona, America. The team took the 13th place between 50 teams.
